18th ANNUAL GENERAL BODY - 25.03.2012
FRAT's 18th Annual General Body was inaugurated by the Shri. K. Muralidharan, MLA at Hassan Marikar Hall, Palayam on Sunday 25th March 2012 at 2 pm. The guest of honor was the Addl. Chief Judicial Magistrate Smt. V.P Indira Devi. Compliments were made by Shri. P. Ashok Kumar, Councillor. Shri. N. Babu, General Secretary welcomed the gathering. President Adv. Vennikulam George Varughese chaired the meeting and the treasurer Shri. S. Satheesachandran Nair conveyed the vote of thanks.
Later in the day, the office bearers for the year 2012 were elected. Adv. Vennikulam George Varughese was elected as President, Adv. Paraniyam Devakumar as General Secretary and Shri. S. Satheesachandran Nair as Treasurer.

17th ANNUAL GENERAL BODY - 25.05.2011
FRAT's 17th Annual General Body was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Transport & Devaswom Shri. V.S Sivakumar at Hassan Marikar Hall, Palayam on wednesday 25th May 2011 at 4 pm. The minister said that the development of the State capital is one of the main agendas of the UDF government, which will go beyond the framework of coalition politics for the purpose. Development works in the city have stagnated. The needs of the State capital, which had not been addressed properly, will now be taken care of. The Minister laid emphasis on the tardy progress in road transport in Kerala. He said that in other cities in India, new flyovers were being built to ease traffic congestion.
Padmashri recipient G. Shankar, winner of Police Medal J. Unnikrishnan, Anjali Krishnan, who secured 100 per cent marks in Plus Two exams and Aneesh Shekhar, who got 48th rank in IAS exam were honoured. The winners of the children's painting competition held on 15th May 2011 were also rewarded.
Later the office bearers for the year 2011 were elected. Adv. Vennikulam George Varughese was elected as President, Shri. N. Babu as General Secretary and Shri. S. Satheesachandran Nair as Treasurer.
ZONE 10 ANNUAL MEET - 05.03.2011
FRAT Zone-10 Annual Meet was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor Shri. Happy Kumar at Gandhi Nagar RA hall, Vazhuthacaud at 5 pm on 5th March 2011. Representatives from 25 RA's out of 38 RA's from the Corporation Wards Palayam, Vazhuthacaud, Thycaud, Jagathy & Arannoor attended the meeting which was chaired by the Zonal President V.R Janardhanan. The Secretary R.L Mohan Kumar welcomed the house full gathering and felicitations done by FRAT President Pattom Sasidharan Nair and Patron's T.K Bhaskara Panicker & Adv. Paraniyam Devakumar.
FRAT President Pattom Sasidharan Nair gave away the prizes to the winners of the Zone-10 Onam Athapoo Competition held on 22nd August 2010. The Zone Secretary presented the working report for the year 2010 and Publicity Convenor C. Syam Mohan presented the Income & Expenditure reports on behalf of Treasurer James Verghese. Prominent News Papers The Mathrubhumi, The Malayala Manorama & Kerala Kaumudi gave due information regarding the meeting. The meeting concluded at 7.30 pm.

17th HALF YEARLY GENERAL BODY - 10.07.2010
FRAT's 17th Half yearly General Body was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Water Resources Shri. N.K Premachandran at Jawahar Balabhavan, Vellayambalam on Saturday 10th July 2010 at 10 am. The Seminar on Capital Development - Dreams & Aspirations was inaugurated by Hon. Minister for Law, Sports & Youth Affairs Shri. M. Vijayakumar. Among those who participated in the seminar included M.L.A Shri V. Surendran Pillai. Minister Shri. M. Vijayakumar distributed Educational Awards to Meritorius Students and persons who obtained special positions were also honored by him. The General Secretary Adv. Punchakkary Raveendran Nair welcomed the gathering and President Pattom Sasidharan Nair chaired the meeting.
In the afternoon session a discussion on Social Security & its Challenges was conducted by Shri. A. Hemachandran ( I.G, Thiruvananthapuram Range) and a lecture on Cyber Crimes & Remedial Measures was conducted by Shri. E.S Bijumon (Dy. SP, Special Team, PHQ).
Later the General Body met and the Report & Accounts were discussed and approved. The meeting concluded at 5.30 pm with the National Anthem.
FRAT ZONE 10 MEETING - 13.06.2010
FRAT's Zone 10 meeting comprising 35 RA's from Palayam, Vazhuthacaud, Thycaud, Jagathy & Arannoor wards was held at Balavihar Hall, behind Tagore Theatre, Vazhuthacaud on 13th June 2010 at 5.30 pm. Representatives from 22 RA's out of 35 RA's took part in the meeting which was chaired by the Zonal President, V.R Janardhanan. The Welcome speech was made by C. Syam Mohan, Convener, Publicity & Publication Committee, and felicitation by Patron, T.K Bhaskara Panicker. Secretariat Member R. Sadasivan Nair presided over the function and conducted the proceedings for electing the working committee members.
Shri. R.L Mohan Kumar, Secretary of M.P Appan Nagar RA, Vazhuthacaud was unanimously nominated to the post of Secretary.

ZONE 16 CONVENTION - 04.04.2010
The FRAT Zone 16 convention representing 35 Residents' Associations from Pappanamcode, Estate, Nemom, Ponnumangalam & Melamcode was inaugurated by Worshipful Mayor Shri. C. Jayan Babu at Chithra Medical Institute Hall, Kaimanam on Sunday 4th April 2010. The 2010 Working Plan was inaugurated by Shri. N. Sakthan, M.L.A.
Karamana-Kaliyikavila NH Action Council Gen.Secretary Adv. Shanavas Kattakath was honored by presenting Ponnada. The Best Residents' Association award was received on behalf of Pappanamcode Grameena Samithi Residents' Association by its President G. Viswanathan.
Zonal Secretary A. Mohana Kumar welcomed the gathering and Zonal President N. Samkunju chaired the meeting. FRAT General Secretary Adv. Punchakkary Raveendran Nair delivered the opening speech and President Pattom Sasidharan Nair delivered the main speech. Among those who attended the meeting include Vice President P. Sukumaran, Joint Secretaries G. Radhakrishnan and A. Suganthi Nair, Cell Conveners V. Radhakrishnan Nair, C. Syam Mohan and K. Sukumaran.
POOJAPPURA ZONE CONVENTION - 07.03.2010
The Zone 13 convention was inaugurated by the Councilor Shri. Mudavanmugal Rajasekharan at Vattavila on Sunday 7th March 2010. The convention observed that the helmet hunt tactics used by the Police Dept. on war footing is highly deplorable.
Shri. K. Sugunan chaired the meeting. FRAT President, General Secretary and Treasurer also participated and spoke on the occasion. The Zonal office bearers Adv. T.H Lawrence (Patron), K. Sugunan (President), J. Stephenson (Vice President), K. Vijayakumaran Nair (Secretary), N. Baburaj (Joint.Secretary) and K.K Purushothaman Nair (Treasurer), were elected at the meeting.
16TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE & GENERAL BODY - 12.02.2010
The 16th Annual Conference of FRAT was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Food & Civil Supplies Shri. C. Divakaran at Jawahar Balabhavan Auditorium on Friday 12th February 2010. The Minister announced that as part of efforts to contain the rise in prices of essential commodities, the Civil Supplies Dept. is ready to distribute these commodities through Mobile Maveli Stores in the City and Suburbs under the leadership of Residents' Associations.
The Minister said that he would initiate a meeting between FRAT and leading Gas Agencies to devise ways to avoid delay in the supply of Cooking Gas cylinders. Residents' Associations should work with the government to fight hoarders and black marketeers in order to ensure that rice, wheat and kerosene sold by the government through the public distribution system reached the needy. The government would give priority to applications forwarded by FRAT to redress anomalies in the distribution of APL and BPL cards. The Minister also released the FRAT Souvenir and the FRAT Directory.
Later the Annual General Body Meeting was held in which office bearers for the year 2010 were elected. Shri. Pattom Sasidharan Nair was elected as President, Adv. Punchakkari G Raveendran Nair as General Secretary and Shri. M.S Venugopal as Treasurer.
ZONE 13 : ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING - 17.01.2010
The 13th Annual General Body Meeting of Zone 13 demanded urgent setting up of Palliative Care units at Govt Medical College, District General Hospitals and Taluk Hospitals, as in other districts, and pledged its support to the Govt for its implementation. Zone President Shri. Radhakrishnan chaired the meeting, which also proposed the opening of a FRIENDS centre in Poojappura. The sluggish work that has led to the impassable condition of the Poojappura-Thirumala road also figured in the list of demands.
FRAT - 16TH HALF YEARLY MEETING
The half yearly General Body is scheduled to meet at Jawahar Balabhavan, Vellayambalam on 06.9.2009. Dr Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State, External Affairs, Government of India will be the Chief Guest. All those members who could not receive the individual notice sent by post or through their representatives may kindly treat this as personal invitation and attend the meeting without fail.

NB: The subjects for the seminar will be (i) Janamaithri against Communal Terrorism and (ii) The Role of Residents' Associations in Social Security. Those who have participated in the 'Hunger Strike for the Restoration of the High Court Bench in the Capital'will also be honoured on the occasion. Other dignitaries who have agreed to adorn the dais will include S/Shri M Vijayakumar (Minister for Law, Sports and Youth Affairs), O Rajagopal (Former Union Minister), P K Venugopal (Former TRIDA Chairman), Sanjay Kaul IAS (District Collector), Sandhya IPS (IG of Police), V Sivan Kutty (MLA), Jayan Babu (Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram City, Anavoor Nagappan (District Panchayat President)and N Gopalakrishnan IPS (DCP). There will also be a LUCKY DIP for the representatives at the meeting and the winners will receive ONAM GIFTS. Three representatives can be sent by each member Residents' Association. The registration fee per Residents' Association is Rs.50/-. All are requested to attend the functions and make the programme a grand success.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING OF FRAT ZONE - 13
The half-yearly meeting of the 13th Zone Committee of FRAT was held at the Corporation's Poojappura Unni Memorial Hall on Sunday, July 05, 2009. The meeting was chaired by Zone president Shri G Radhakrishnan and inaugurated by FRAT president Shri Pattom Sasidharan Nair. While the FRAT patron Adv Punchakkari Raveendran Nair distributed Membership Certificates, FRAT vice president Adv Paraniyam Devakumar gave away the educational awards. Secretariat member Shri K Sukumaran and Health Committee convenor Shri K Sugunan distributed Quiz prizes and note books. The Zone secrtetary Shri S Vijayakumar and the Zone treasurer Shri P Gopakumar spoke on the occasion. Shri G Rajasekhara Panicker, branch manager of EMKAY presented the insurance policies. Shri N Baburaj, joint secretary of the Zone, proposed vote of thanks.

Annual General Body Meet - 2009
The 15th Annual General Body Meeting of FRAT was inaugurated by the Hon. Chief Minister Shri. V.S Achuthanandan at Jawahar Balabhavan Auditorium on 26th January 2009. The ISRO Chandrayan Mission Team members were honored on the occasion.
